Biography: Dr. Kristen Pepin is a board-certified Obstetrician and Gynecologist. She is a specialist in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery with a passion for helping women with fibroids, adenomyosis, endometriosis, pelvic pain and infertility. She has expertise in surgical and non-surgical management of these conditions with a focus on minimally invasive approaches. She has a particular interest in laparoscopic total abdominal cerclage and hysterectomy/oophorectomy for gender affirmation for transgender men.      Dr. Pepin received her medical degree from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine, where she graduated with honors and was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honors Society. She then went on to her residency at Brigham and Women’s/Massachusetts General Hospital, teaching hospitals of Harvard Medical School. She stayed on at Brigham and Women’s Hospital for her fellowship training in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery. Biography: Dr. Sheri Saltzman went to College at Cornell University and then got her MD at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Following the completion in 1998 of her Internship and Residency at the New York Presbyterian Hospital, Dr. Saltzman joined Weill Cornell Medical Associates and built up a wonderful Obstetrics and Gynecology practice. As of 2006 she will be focusing on providing much needed Gynecology services.

Biography: Dr. Alexis P. Melnick is an Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Reproductive Medicine at the Ronald O. Perelman and Claudia Cohen Center for Reproductive Medicine (CRM) of Weill Cornell Medical College. She received her undergraduate degree in Biological Basis of Behavior and Hispanic Studies Summa Cum Laude from the University of Pennsylvania, where she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. She received her medical degree from New York University School of Medicine where she was a member of Alpha Omega Alpha, the national medical honor society. She went on to complete a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at New York Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center followed by a fellowship in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at the Ronald O. Biography: Dr. Tirsit Asfaw is a Urogynecologist who specializes in the care of women with pelvic floor weakness resulting in conditions such as pelvic organ prolapse and bladder dysfunction. Dr. Teaiwa-Rutherford obtained a bachelor's degree from Santa Clara University and earned her medical degree at Columbia University's Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons. She then completed a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at St. Lukes-Roosevelt Hospital Center, where she served as chief resident.Before joining Weill Cornell in 2021, Dr. Teaiwa-Rutherford developed a thriving practice at St. Lukes-Roosevelt Hospital (later Mount Sinai West), where she felt privileged to be a part of many women’s lives through routine gynecological care and family planning to pregnancy and beyond. Biography: Dr. Chen attended the University of Washington’s School of Medicine to earn her medical education, after she attended the university’s College of Arts and Science, earning her Bachelor’s degree in biochemistry. She completed her internship at the Boston University Medical Center, learning about general surgery. Dr. Chen completed her obstetrics and gynecology residency at the New York Downtown Hospital, where she was named chief resident of her specialty. In 2005, Dr. Chen earned the Marvin Dunn fellowship program, in which she traveled to Shenyang, China. Dr. Chen joins Weill Cornell Medicine after practicing as an OB/GYN generalist in lower Manhattan and Brooklyn. She is passionate about women’s health, and she provides care for patients that experience ectopic or tubal pregnancy, cervical polyps, acne, abnormal pap smears, vaginal discharge, sexual dysfunction, and urinary tract infections.

Dr. Lederman serves on the Medical Advisory Board of FORCE (Facing our Risk of Cancer Empowered) and the Scientific Advisory Board for T.E.A.L. (Tell Every Amazing Lady About Ovarian Cancer). Dr. Lederman has published scientific abstracts and articles in a number of peer-reviewed journals in the fields of endocrinology and infertility and has presented his research at national conferences. He specializes in fertility preservation for patients who are diagnosed with cancer or are pre-disposed to hereditary cancer syndromes, unexplained fertility, recurrent pregnancy loss, in vitro fertilization, egg freezing, and pre-implantation genetic screening. He has been recognized as a New York Super Doctor every year since 2015.</p>

Biography: Dr. Reena Parikh is an Obstetrician and Gynecologist who provides care to women in both the inpatient and outpatient setting. She specializes in a variety of obstetrical and gynecologic areas, including comprehensive gynecologic care, gynecologic surgery, preventative care, prenatal care, management of labor and delivery, and contraceptive health services. She emphasizes evidence-based medicine and strives to provide competent and compassionate care.      Dr. Parikh was born and raised in central New Jersey and is excited to practice in the tristate area close to her family. She studied biology and psychology at Nova Southeastern University in South Florida. During college, she traveled to Graz, Austria to work with a surgical team where she was first introduced to the field of obstetrics and gynecology. It was then that she decided to pursue a career in women’s health. She went on to receive her medical degree from Drexel University’s College of Medicine. In medical school, she traveled to India to complete a rotation in global health. Witnessing health disparities abroad was one of the most rewarding times of Dr. Parikh’s medical career, as it largely influenced her desire to work with a diverse patient population. She then went on to complete her residency at Mount Sinai West where she was inspired by the multifaceted nature of practicing obstetrics and gynecology in New York City. She feels fortunate that this field allows her to treat women in various settings, from the office to the operating room, to the labor floor.   Outside of work, Dr. Parikh loves to run, watch and play sports, travel, and spend time with family.
