His father was a pharmacist and he saw how he helped the community in Norcross, Georgia, where he grew up. He wanted to do the same and chose family medicine as his avenue to do so. His faith supports his philosophy and gives him energy to care for his patients. He is married to Amy and has two stepdaughters, Madeleine and Ainsley.
