Biography: Dr. Jonathan Weinsaft, an esteemed physician-scientist who focuses on clinical research and cardiovascular imaging, is the chief of the Greenberg Division of Cardiology at Weill Cornell Medicine and NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center. Dr. Jonathan Weinsaft directs the cardiac MRI program and participates in the cardiac CT angiography program at New York Presbyterian Hospital - Weill Cornell. In addition to their active clinical services, both programs are actively engaged several research studies aimed at improving diagnostic techniques as well as clinical risk stratification for patients with atherosclerotic heart disease and congestive heart failure.Dr. Weinsaft is a member of the Division of Cardiology at NY Presbyterian Hospital - Weill Cornell Medical Center, where he is focused on the use of novel non-invasive imaging techniques such as cardiac MRI, cardiac CT, and nuclear cardiac imaging for the identification of coronary artery disease and related manifestations.Dr. Weinsaft completed undergraduate and graduate studies at New York University and subsequently received his medical degree from the New York University School of Medicine. Dr. Weinsaft completed his Internal Medicine residency and Cardiology fellowship at the New York Presbyterian Hospital Weill Cornell Medical Center. He also completed a research fellowship in cardiovascular imaging at Duke University Medical Center, where he was subsequently on faculty prior to being recruited to NY Presbyterian Hospital & Weill Cornell to develop the cardiac MRI program. In addition to serving as the Michael J. Wolk Foundation Clinical Scholar at NYP - Cornell (2005), Dr. Weinsaft has received the American Heart Association's Laennec Society Young Clinician Award (2001), the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology Young Investigator Award (2003), and the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation Clinical Scientist Development Award (2006). Research interests include use of cardiac MRI and CT for identification of ischemic and infarcted myocardium as well as prognostic risk assessment.

Biography: Dr. Denis Donovan is a general pediatric cardiologist at Weill Cornell Medicine. He is appointed as an Assistant Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at Weill Cornell Medicine and an Assistant Attending Physician at NewYork-Presbyterian Komansky Children’s Hospital. Dr. Donovan is double board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in Pediatric Cardiology and General Pediatrics.Dr. Donovan earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Boston College and completed the Post-Baccalaureate Pre-Medical program at Columbia University. He earned his medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons and was elected into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He completed his residency in pediatrics at NewYork-Presbyterian, Columbia University Irving Medical Center. He continued at NewYork-Presbyterian, Columbia University Irving Medical Center to complete his fellowship in pediatric cardiology, where he served as Chief Fellow. Following his fellowship, Dr. Donovan joined the faculty at Weill Cornell Medicine.Dr. Donovan’s clinical interests include general preventive pediatric cardiology, acute care cardiology, exercise stress testing, as well as transthoracic, transesophageal, and fetal echocardiography. His research interests revolve largely around the patient and parent experience for children with congenital heart disease. As a trainee, he developed a Pediatric Cardiology Patient Passport to help patients and families to more easily relay complex medical information to healthcare professionals. Dr. Donovan is also interested in the neurodevelopmental outcomes of patients with congenital heart disease and has performed research surrounding the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on outpatient therapies for children with complex congenital heart disease. Additionally, he has performed research in the area of heart failure and transplant, evaluating risk factors for hypertension after heart transplant, as well as the association between homograft tissue exposure and pre-sensitization prior to transplant in congenital heart disease patients. Dr. Donovan continues to perform clinical research at Weill Cornell Medicine.Dr. Donovan has strong passion for medical education and has mentored and taught learners at various levels of medical training, from medical students to residents to fellows. As a pediatric cardiology fellow, he was voted “Fellow of the Year” by the pediatric residents at NewYork-Presbyterian, Columbia University Irving Medical Center as an acknowledgment of his partnership, teamwork, and support of the pediatric residency program. At Weill Cornell, as Co-Director of Medical Education for the Division of Pediatric Cardiology, he directs the Pediatric Cardiology experience for medical students and pediatric residents, and also works closely with Pediatric Cardiology Fellows. Dr. Donovan is passionate about contributing to the education and development of students and medical trainees.

Biography: Dr. Pirmohamed is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine in the Department of Medicine, Division of Cardiology at Weill Cornell Medicine and New York Presbyterian Hospital. As a specialist in Non-Invasive Cardiology and Vascular Medicine he interprets and performs stress tests, echocardiograms, vascular ultrasounds and consults on the wards of New York-Presbyterian Lower Manhattan Hospital.  Dr. Pirmohamed was born in Silver Spring, Maryland and moved to Washington D.C. for his early education. He attended Georgetown University, earning his undergraduate degree in Economics and Spanish before staying to complete his medical degree. He moved to New York City for his Internal Medicine residency at New York Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Medical Center. He then completed his training in Cardiovascular Diseases and Echocardiography at New York Presbyterian Hospital/Weill-Cornell Medical College. Dr. Pirmohamed joined the full time faculty at Weill-Cornell upon completion of his training.Dr. Pirmohamed’s main clinical interests include working with medical trainees and providing advanced education to international clinicians in non-invasive cardiovascular interventions. He is involved in international outreach to provide health care to underserved communities. His research focuses on dissemination and quality improvement methodologies to investigate and improve barriers to health care delivery in these communities. He is a member of the American Society of Echocardiography, the Society for Vascular Medicine and the American College of Cardiology.Dr. Pirmohamed is fluent in Spanish.

Care Philosophy: My clinical interests include the fetal and post-natal diagnosis of congenital heart disease and the management of patients after open heart surgery and cardiac catheterization. It is especially gratifying to be able to work closely with families and participate in optimizing the care of infants, children and adolescents with heart disease.

Biography: Dr. Laighold was born and raised in New York City and attended high school near Weill Cornell. Dr. Laighold graduated with honors from the University of Michigan, and then attended Weill Medical College of Cornell University. He completed his residency in internal medicine at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in 2006 and his fellowship in cardiology at North Shore University Hospital/LIJ Medical Center in 2009.Dr. Laighold joined the faculty in 2024 from Northwell Health where he had worked since 2009. He previously was the Director of Clinical Cardiology at Southside Hospital and the Director of Noninvasive Structural Heart Program at North Shore University Hospital.

Biography: Dr. Grace Kong is an assistant professor of pediatrics at Weill Cornell Medicine and an attending physician at New York Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center, where she practices pediatric cardiology. Dr. Kong is board-certified in general pediatrics and pediatric cardiology by the American Board of Pediatrics.Dr. Kong received her medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine and completed her pediatrics residency at New York Presbyterian Hospital, Weill Cornell Medical College. She completed her fellowship in pediatric cardiology at Mount Sinai Hospital, Icahn School of Medicine, where she served as a chief fellow and was voted fellow of the year by the pediatric residents. Dr. Kong then completed an advanced fellowship in cardiac imaging at Mount Sinai Hospital, Icahn School of Medicine, where she was additionally trained in non-invasive cardiac imaging, including cardiac computed tomography, cardiac magnetic resonance, and fetal echocardiography.Dr. Kong’s clinical interests include congenital heart disease, non-invasive cardiac imaging, and fetal cardiology. Her research interests revolve around using non-invasive imaging to predict outcomes and manage patients with congenital heart disease. She is fluent in English and Korean.

Biography: Dr. Subramanyam was born and raised in Manhattan, New York. After graduating in Molecular, Cellular & Developmental Biology at Yale University, she attended New York University School of Medicine. She then completed her internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, where she graduated with a degree in Medical Education. After residency, she completed her fellowship in Cardiovascular Diseases at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital-Weill Cornell Medical Center. She is a member of the American College of Cardiology, the American Heart Association, the American Society of Echocardiography, and National Lipid Association. She has published in the International Journal of Cardiology, the Journal of the American Society of Echocardiography, the Journal of the American College of Cardiology, as well as presented at several national cardiology conferences.

Biography: Dr. David Majure is the Medical Director of the Heart Transplant Service at Weill Cornell Medicine. He specializes in the care of patients with heart failure, patients requiring or who have a heart transplant or ventricular assist device (LVAD), and patients with pulmonary hypertension. Dr. Majure received his medical degree from The Johns Hopkins School of Medicine as well as a Masters in Public Health from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. He completed his training in cardiology and advanced heart failure at the University of California, San Francisco, where he also served as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine. He subsequently served as Director of Research of the Advanced Heart Failure Program at the MedStar Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C and Director of Mechanical Circulatory Support at North Shore University Hospital, where he developed the left ventricular assist device (LVAD) program. He has contributed extensively to research and has served as principal investigator in multiple clinical trials, exploring all aspects of advanced heart failure. Dr. Majure has been recognized as a Castle Connolly Top Doctor since 2020.

Biography: Dr. Daniel Lu graduated from Brown University with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. He then completed his medical training as well as a Masters of Health Sciences at Yale School of Medicine, followed by internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. He then completed his subspecialty training in Cardiology at New York-Presbyterian Hospital - Weill Cornell Medical Center, and underwent further subspecialty training in Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology at both NYP-Cornell and NYP-Columbia. Dr. Lu has co-authored numerous research papers in medicine and cardiology and maintains an active research interest investigating outcomes of treatment for heart failure and cardiogenic shock.

Biography: Dr. Jaya Kanduri completed her undergraduate studies in Biology at The College of New Jersey. She attended Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in Piscataway, NJ after which she completed her internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, MA. She then completed her fellowships in Cardiovascular Diseases and Interventional Cardiology at the New York-Presbyterian Hospital - Weill Cornell Medical Center, where she served as chief fellow.Dr. Kanduri is a member of the American College of Cardiology and the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions. She is a diplomat of the National Board of Echocardiography and the Certification Board of Nuclear Cardiology.

Biography: Dr. Lakshmi Nambiar is a cardiologist and Assistant Professor in the Cardiology Division of the Department of Medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College. She completed her internal medicine residency and cardiovascular disease fellowship at the University of Vermont. She joined the faculty at Weill Cornell Medicine after completing her fellowship in advanced cardiac imaging with a focus on cardiac MRI and echocardiography at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medicine. Dr. Nambiar is board certified in Cardiovascular Disease, Internal Medicine, Nuclear Cardiology, Cardiac MRI and Echocardiography. She is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology.   Her clinical interests include the application of cardiac magnetic resonance imaging and echocardiography to women’s cardiac health. She is first author on multiple peer-reviewed publications including in JACC and JASE. Her research has been recognized with national media releases including in Medscape, MedPage Today, and TCTMD. She is committed to excellence in patient-centered care and education.
